Amy joined Luther Lanard with almost 10 years of experience representing clients in business litigation and legal malpractice matters, in federal and state courts and arbitration. She spent most of her legal career at a small law firm in Orange County, California, where she gained extensive experience in all stages of litigation. Amy has second-chaired jury trials and arbitrations involving complex contract disputes, as well a binding legal malpractice arbitration against one of the oldest law firms in San Diego that resulted in a significant award for the client.
Amy was selected for the Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Stars list (2019-2023) and was also recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America from 2021-2023. Amy has participated as a lecturer/panelist on ethical issues for the Orange County Bar Association and American Bar Association and co-authored an article on the malpractice landscape for BigLaw published in Law 360.
An Orange County native, Amy earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of California, Irvine, and returned to earn her law degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Law. As a law student, Amy participated in the school’s annual moot court competition, served as a member of the UCI Law Mock Trial Board, and was a research fellow for the first-year lawyering skills (writing) course. As a certified law student in UCI Law’s Domestic Violence Clinic, Amy represented low-income abuse survivors in restraining order trials and immigration matters. She earned a pro bono achievement award for her participation in various pro bono projects.
Outside the office, Amy enjoys testing her knowledge at local pub trivia nights, exploring California wine country, and occasionally training for a race.
